I haven't read the article in the Mail but was informed by three of my students that the Rev, mentioned in the previous posting, has been verbally dressed down by a tai chi instructor. Hip Hip Horay! Well done, that man...
Most types of tai chi have no more religious connections than a packet of crisps, and his bigotted, small minded attitude are sadly why the majority of conflicts around the world start with religious "reasons". I am really stepping up to the soap box with this one, especially when our Armed Forces are the ones thrown in to deal with this.
One of my karate students (from a young age) wanted to join the Green Berets; and he did. I met him after he had served in Afghanistan (circa 2002) and was so proud of his achievements.
Luckily, he was a survivor of the Forces and has subsequently left. I can only imagine the heart ache for families of soldiers killed for what is said to be "the defence of our realm and way of life".
The point? People like the Rev should get a life, and take a reality check.
